Vindicated
“Friends, when life gets really difficult, don't jump to the conclusion that God isn't on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.”(1 Peter 4:12, 13 MSG)
In a criminal trial the prosecution bears the burden of proof. Thus, the prosecutor must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the crimes charged. Based on the evidence presented, either a jury or a judge makes the final determination of the defendant's guilt or innocence. If a judge or jury finds the defendant guilty, the court will sentence the defendant. If the defendant is found innocent, he or she is released to go free.
You only find yourself on trial if you have been accused of a wrong doing of some sort. Your accuser imputes guilt or blame on you with the intention of bringing you into an extended time of bondage. The defendant is now forced to present an argument in their defense.
Christians have an accuser, Satan, who hurls accusations against us constantly before God, Who is our ultimate Judge (Revelation 12:10). He has a valid case, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 NIV). That's the strength of his accusation! We all have sinned and are worthy of the consequences.“For the wages of sin is death...” (Romans 6:23).
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV). No matter what the charges, if you are in Christ the verdict is “Not guilty!” Today your faith may be on trial, and accusations may be launched at you from the left and from the right, but look up! God's got your back. “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you” (Isaiah 54:17 NIV). Be encouraged child of God; your vindication is in Christ. Your name will be cleared, and your cause will be upheld!
