The Lifestyle of Faith (part 4)

The Lifestyle of Faith (part 4)

“… The just shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11

Faith is the lifestyle of the believer. Faith is the persuasion in a just persons mind that the word of God is true based on God’s authority and truthfulness. Now, the more we hear God’s word, the more our faith increases (Romans 10:17). As our faith increases, faith’s components are also strengthened which are these: love, belief, loyalty, obedience, trust and confidence. So then our lifestyle of faith is a lifestyle of love; a lifestyle of belief; a lifestyle of loyalty; a lifestyle of obedience; a lifestyle of trust; and a lifestyle of confidence.

Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him.” The same is with faith’s components. Without love, without belief, without loyalty, without obedience it is impossible to live a lifestyle that pleases God.

Yet another of faith’s components without which it is impossible to please God is trust. Without trust it is impossible to please God for it is written, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).
God wants us to rely on His integrity, His strength, and His ability. He alone is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. It is only through Him that we can do all things. In Him we are fully persuaded that He is able to accomplish anything. David speaks of trust in the book of Psalms. Psalm 9:10 says, “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” Psalm 18:2 says, “The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.Psalm 37:3 reads, “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”Psalm 37:5 says tell us to, “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”

The same is with faith’s component of confidence. Without confidence it is impossible to please and receive from God. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask , we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 John 5:14, 15). Another word for confidence is assurance. God wants us to come to Him free from doubt, with certainty positively declaring our intentions – “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16 NIV).
My friend, make a commitment to live a lifestyle that is pleasing to God. Today live by faith. Live by love. Live by belief. Live by loyalty. Live by obedience. Live by trust and live by confidence towards God.
