Milk Does A Body Good (Part 5)
2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: 3If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. - 1 Peter 2:2 KJV
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. 1 Peter 2:2 NIV
Natural milk provides vitamin D for strong bones. Natural milk, the word of God, will place you on a foundation, thats what strong bones represent, and you will be like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock (Luke 6:48).
Vitamin D is also known as the "sunshine vitamin" because the body manufactures the vitamin after being exposed to sunshine. Now sunshine is light. The Holy Bible says that the entrance of God's word gives light. It says this, 20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverb 4:20).
Ten to 15 minutes of sunshine 3 times weekly is enough to produce the body's requirement of vitamin D. If you want life and health then you have to continually expose yourself to the light of God's word. However, many people living in sunny climates still do not make enough vitamin D and need more from their diet or supplementation. In other words, Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching (Hebrews 12:5). Natural milk provides high-quality protein for lean muscles. Spiritual milk says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
My friend Jesus Christ is the spiritual milk that we should desire. Jesus is the one we should seek after with our whole hearts. It is He who points us in the right direction. It is He who gives us hope and lights our way. Are you thirsty today come and drink, He is a well that never runs dry.
