Amen (Part 2)

Amen (Part 2)
“For all the promises of God in Him [Jesus] are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
There is a challenge in translating text from one language to another. Sometimes the complete idea and implications of a word can be hidden because there simply isn’t a word or group of words that encompass the complete thought of the word you want to translate.
There’s a lot tied up in that word “Amen.” Most people just use it as an ending to a prayer, and think of it as rather meaningless. Amen, meaning “so be it,” is a word of command. It is to be uttered by faith, in courage, and in complete authority. For at the end of a prayer, the “Amen” is the assurance that I believe in the promise. I believe that God is able and willing to fulfill every promise He offered me through Christ Jesus. Declaring “Amen” is making the substance of what is prayed for your own, it is taking possession of the promise. It is an expression of absolute trust and confidence.
In light of all these great promises of God, what are we to do with our current struggles? Because sometimes you just don’t feel like the situation is ever going to get better. Sometimes it feels like the enemy is winning, and there’s no help in sight. Sometimes it seems as though your problems are bigger than what you can handle.
I’m not asking you to cover your mind in a cloud of denial. However, just because you “feel” it, that doesn’t mean you have to say it. You don’t have to agree with your situation, agree with the promises of God! Your situation may say one thing, but you have to hold fast to what you know is true. My God “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20). And He didn’t bring you this far just to leave you. Your best days are ahead of you!
Be encouraged to draw nearer to God in this season of your life. There are visions, dreams, and promises He desires to impart into your spirit. His thoughts and plans concerning you are those of peace and not evil, and are ordained to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Once those promises are revealed, you know you have the “Yes!” Now it’s up to you to declare, “Amen!”
Send this message to a Friend, and go take charge of the day!

Be Blessed,
