Speak Over Your Year (Part 2)

Speak Over Your Year (Part 2)
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:3
Jesus said in John 8:12 “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Then Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:5-6 “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
God commands Light to enter our hearts through the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Once you believe the Word, you make a confession with your mouth of what you believe in your heart, and your heart is purified by faith. You are now put in right standing with God. Romans 4:8 “Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.” Did you see that? The Lord will NEVER count your past sins against you once you’ve confessed and repented of them and receive God’s grace. Faith-filled words release tremendous power! The writer of Proverbs says, “The tongue has the power of life and death” (Proverbs 18:21 NIV).
You will have what you say. If you continue to confess the problem, then your words strengthen the problem. But if you speak the Word of God, you literally speak life into your situation. “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]” (Hebrew 4:12 AMP). The way has already been made for you to experience God’s promised blessings. The Apostle Peter says that we have obtained “like precious faith” in Christ (2 Peter 1:1). The English Standard Version describes it as “a faith of equal standing with ours.” If you believe in what Jesus Christ did for you at Calvary, you are no less qualified than anyone else to get all that God has for you this year. God’s promises are not reserved for the “spiritually elite.” As long as you have confessed Christ, He is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
Make this year all about Jesus! It has been said that every past needs a pardon, every present needs purpose, and every future needs hope. We find all this in Jesus. He is the forgiveness for all your sins. It’s in Him that you live, move, and have your being. And it’s in Christ that God’s glory will be revealed in your life. “Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you” (Psalm 37:5 NLT).
