This is the Day that the Lord has Made Part 2

This is the Day that the Lord has Made

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. - Psalm 118:24

Imagine being able to travel back to a point in time before the beginning. A time before the creation of the heaven and the earth. Imagine the earth being without form, and void; and all you can see is darkness. Imagine seeing the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit conferring one with another. Suddenly the Holy Spirit moves then the Father speaks in a loud voice these words, “Let there be light.” Imagine that all you have ever known was darkness and then light comes into existence. Suddenly you can see. Imagine the flood of joy that would fill your soul. You couldn’t help but leap with praise thanking God for creating a day that is filled with everything you need. Wouldn’t that day that the Lord has made be a day to rejoice and be glad in it?

Now what if God not only met your need for one day, what if He “daily loadeth you with benefits…” (Psalm68:19)? Wouldn’t He be worthy of daily praise for those daily benefits? We ought to praise God for our daily bread!

When you woke up this morning did you know that the day your eyes opened to see did not exist until God created it? Did you know that this day contains the blessings, the healings, the deliverance, the peace, the joy, the strength, the prosperity; it contains all that God has and all that God is - just for you! Knowing that this is the day that the Lord has made be enough for you to rejoice and be glad in it?

The Apostle Paul wrote in the book of Colossians 1:16-17 (NLT), “…for through him (Jesus) God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.” Knowing that He holds me together, knowing that my very next breath depends on Him, knowing that He alone allowed my eyes to see a new day, be a day to rejoice and be glad in it? (To be continued).
